  林大叶1980年生于山东,自幼学习钢琴,15岁起随中央音乐学院著名指挥家,教育家徐新先生学习指挥。1998年考入上海音乐学院作曲指挥系,师从著名指挥家张国勇教授。2000年,参加指挥大师小泽征尔大师班,并得到大师好评。2005年获得德国国家奖学金赴德国留学,就读于柏林音乐学院,师从德国著名指挥家克里斯汀·爱华德教授。在德国求学期间与国内外各大交响乐团仍然保持密切的合作关系。

  2010年至2015年,林大叶受聘为广州交响乐团常任指挥。期间,他多次与广州交响乐团进行出访及国内外巡演,2009年10月与广州交响乐团赴欧洲演出,在德国柏林宪兵广场音乐厅举行音乐会。2010年,与广州交响乐团赴曼谷为包括皇室在内的泰国政要举行了两场音乐会。2011年3月率广州交响乐团赴国家大剧院举行音乐会,10月率广州交响乐团再次进行欧洲巡演,在意大利威尼斯凤凰歌剧院、佛罗伦萨威尔第歌剧院、列支敦士登沙恩剧院举行音乐会。2012年至2013年期间,与广州交响乐团多次赴澳门、台湾和新加坡进行文化交流和访问演出。2014年9月,与广州交响乐团出访澳洲,在悉尼及堪培拉举行音乐会。2015年1月,第三次与广州交响乐团出访欧洲,在瑞士苏黎世、日内瓦及伯尔尼举行音乐会。2015年第四次执棒广州交响乐团新年音乐会,并成为广州交响乐团自1993年建立广州新年音乐会品牌以来,唯一四度执棒的指挥家。

  在2010年,林大叶分别与中国爱乐乐团(与小提琴大师宓多里合作在北京国际音乐节演出)和上海交响乐团首度合作,并马上获邀再次与两团合作。随后在上海世博会期间担任世博会国际合唱节千人交响合唱音乐会指挥。同年8月,与英国皇家爱乐乐团合作在上海夏季音乐节举行音乐会。随后,指挥了由北京国际音乐节与波士顿歌剧院联合委约作曲家周龙创作并荣获普利策奖的歌剧《白蛇传》的中国首演。

  2011年10月应上海音乐学院交响乐团邀请,担任上海国际艺术节马勒专场音乐会指挥。11月担任中国音乐家协会举办的金钟奖小提琴大赛指挥,并指挥了金钟奖“名家名曲”闭幕式音乐会。2011年至今,多次获得广东省音乐家协会颁发的“广东省优秀音乐家”称号。

  在2012年德国法兰克福举行的第六届乔治·索尔第爵士国际指挥大赛中,林大叶荣获冠军,成为获此殊荣的首位中国人。同年获得广东省音乐家协会授予的“广东省优秀音乐家突出贡献奖”。2012-2013音乐季,与上海交响乐团合作演出当代中国作曲家作品音乐会,与中国爱乐乐团合作演出赛萨尔·弗兰克《d小调交响曲》,并首次赴北美指挥温哥华交响乐团举行了3场音乐会,获得巨大成功。

  2013年,获选广东省青年联合会委员。2013-2014音乐季,在第十六届北京国际音乐节指挥作曲家周龙的交响史诗《九歌》的世界首演,指挥深圳交响乐团演出马勒第五交响曲,与上海交响乐团合作指挥拉赫玛尼诺夫作品专场,指挥杭州爱乐乐团成功首演郭文景的小提琴协奏曲,率深圳交响乐团赴东欧巡演,指挥上海歌剧院和广州交响乐团合作演出马斯卡尼的歌剧《乡村骑士》,在广州交响乐团2013-2014音乐季闭幕式音乐会上指挥马勒第一交响曲。

  2015年5月,受邀在中国爱乐乐团成立十五周年音乐会上担任指挥。受马林斯基剧院之邀,参加Musical Olympus国际音乐节,在圣彼得堡爱乐大厅指挥圣彼得堡交响乐团演出。同年6月,受邀替代指挥大师艾度·迪华特指挥上海交响乐团乐季演出。9月,在指挥泰斗黄晓同先生、指挥家教育家张国勇先生、指挥大师余隆先生联名推荐下,林大叶回上海音乐学院指挥系任教,现任指挥系教研室主任、副教授。

  2016年受中国爱乐乐团邀请,执棒中央电视台2016新年音乐会。3月受西班牙Castillo y Leon交响乐团之邀,举行两场音乐会,获得巨大成功,并受乐团邀请2018年再度合作。同年5月,受邀执棒上海之春国际音乐节赵季平作品专场音乐会。

  2016年5月,深圳市文体旅游局正式聘任林大叶先生为深圳交响乐团音乐总监兼首席指挥。

A distinguished young conductor, Lin Daye was born in 1980 in Shandong Province, China. As a child he begins to learn playing the piano and at the age of 15 started to study conducting under tutelage of Prof. Xu Xin, the Conducting Professor of Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. In 1998, he was accepted into the Shanghai Conservatory of Music to continue his conducting studies with Prof. Zhang Guoyong. In 2000, Lin Daye was participated in a master-class of Maestro Seiji Ozawa, who praised him highly. Moreover, in 2005, he obtained a scholarship from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and further his conducting studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin under the guidance of Prof. Christian Ehwald, during his study in Germany, Daye kept close relationship with major orchestras nationally and internationally.

Between 2010 to 2015, Lin Daye was appointed as Principal Conductor of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO) and made several concert tours with the GSO in homeland and overseas. In October 2009, the GSO toured Europe, with memorable concert at the Konzerthaus Berlin under the baton of Lin Daye. In 2010, he has toured with the GSO in Bangkok to present two successful concerts for the Thai Royal Family.

In March 2011, he has performed with the GSO at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing and in October he has toured with GSO again in Europe including the concerts at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Verdi in Florence and Liechtenstein Schaan Theater. From 2012 to 2013, he conducted the orchestra on tours to Macau, Taiwan and Singapore for musical cultural exchange. Moreover, in September 2014, he led the GSO in two concerts in Australia respectively in Sydney and Canberra. In January 2015, he conducted the GSO on its third Europe tour in Zurich, Geneva and Bern of Switzerland. In the GSO 2014/15 Season Opening Concert, he served as the only conductor for the fourth time presenting the Guangzhou New Year’s Concert which inaugurated more than 20 years since 1993.

In 2010, he made his debuts with the China Philharmonic Orchestra at the Beijing Music Festival and with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and both orchestras issued immediate re-invitations. In August 2010, he conducted London’s Royal Philharmonic at the Shanghai “Music in the Summer Air” festival. In October 2010 he conducted the Chinese premiere of Madame White Snake – the Pulitzer Prize-winning new opera co-commissioned from Zhou Long by Opera Boston and the Beijing Music Festival (BMF).

In October 2011, he was invited by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music Orchestra to conduct the 100th anniversary of Mahler's birth concert titled "Expansive Harmony" at the China Shanghai International Arts Festival. Furthermore, in November, he was the conductor at the China Golden Bell Award for Violin Competition organized by the China Musicians Association. Besides, he has awarded several times of Excellent Musician Prize by Guangdong Musicians Association since 2011.

In 2012, Lin Daye won the First Prize at the 6th Sir Georg Solti International Conductors Competition which held in Frankfurt, Germany and being the first Chinese recipient of this competition. In the same year, he has awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award by Guangdong Musicians Association. Highlights of the 2012/13, with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra he conducted a program of contemporary music by leading Chinese composers, and with China Philharmonic Orchestra, a program featuring Franck Symphony in d minor, as well as making his very successful North American debut with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

In 2013, he has been elected as committee member of Guangdong Youth Federation. Highlights of the 2013/14 season include the world premiere of a major new work named A Symphonic Epic “Nine Odes” by Zhou Long at the Beijing Music Festival, Mahler Symphony No.5 with Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, a Rachmaninoff program with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Chinese Premiere of Guo Wenjing’s Violin Concerto with the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana with Shanghai Opera House and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, and Mahler Symphony No.1 to close the season of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.

In May 2015, he was invited to conduct the China Philharmonic Orchestra 15th Anniversary Concert in Beijing. He has received the invitation from Mariinsky Theatre to attend the Musical Olympus International Music Festival and conducted the St Petersburg Symphony at the Grand Hall of the Shostakovich St Petersburg Academic Philharmonia. In June 2015 he was chosen to replace Edo De Waart, and conducted the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in the new SSO Symphony Hall. In September, Lin Daye has appointed as the Associate Professor and Head of Teaching and Research of Conducting Department at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under recommendation of conducting scholar-Mr Huang Xiaotong, conducting educator-Mr Zhang Guoyong and well-known conductor-Mr Yu Long.

In 2016, Daye has been invited by China Philharmonic Orchestra to conduct the CCTV New Year Concert 2016. In March, he was conducted the Castillo y Leon Symphony Orchestra for two concerts with great success and has invited by the orchestra to make his return in 2018. In May, the same year he was invited to conduct the Composition Concert of Zhao Jiping at the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival.

In May 2016, Lin Daye has officially appointed as Music Director and Principal Conductor of Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Administration of Shenzhen Municipality.
